SAY IT AGAIN WITH DIFFERENT WORDS

by Glass noose

/
1.
some people pray to feel closer to god in a silence so comfortable a crying ovation this is where time employs illusion some people pray to feel closer to god
2.
this place is broken selective listening we know you hear us it must be so beautiful to be able to pull the trigger it must be so beautiful to not have to think about why can you feel it through the ice in your veins we just want to live it must be so beautiful to be able to pull the trigger it must be so beautiful to look up and see the sky
3.
this is where tradition comes to die don't tell me the world is going to shit because it's been shit the whole time, and all we've been trying to do is build any little thing from the ashes. but time and time again you insist on being high tide to this proverbial sandcastle. either that or you're merely the wind - never seen but nonetheless assisting, no, vital to the structures that were built to ensure that no real power comes our way. but when exposed, will you do anything about it? this is where tradition comes to die
4.
if we laid the bodies of our dead down in the street and saw how high the pile went could it even stop traffic, or would it just be considered a job incomplete a broken escalator is just that rooted in where we stand stairs do not make for repair if we filled a river with our blood and watched it overflow before we could get a single word in we'd be blamed for making it harder to row this is not where it ends a broken escalator is just that complicit in standing still this is not where it ends
5.
no matter how deep a hole you dig whether exposed, unbeknownst, or ignored remember you used your hands to get there and you'll need them to get back out i know it can be a lot to ask for semantic leeway that said, carly simon was right this is not about conflict fantasies there's no master plan for revenge it's merely the simple premise that we are people too and don’t you fucking tell me that we’re trying to take your seat at the table. as if somehow you’re being brushed away or forgotten, like that was ever part of the question to begin with. how precious it must be not having to constantly worry about shouldering the burden of proof or relevance, of maintaining composure when you’re the one being pushed. this is not about conflict fantasies there's no master plan for revenge it's merely the simple premise that we are people too this is the simple premise that we are people too
