restless, and i’m biting my tongue plugging my ears so that all exits are accounted for no excuses, this is it and we can’t lose what’s already been lost it’s a waste of time, it’s a waste of effort i would laugh if it wasn’t so joyless so i’m biting my tongue plugging my ears so that all exits are accounted for no excuses, this is it you know treading water is no way to live just ignore the implosion as the blame gets shifted around counting the days has lost its meaning ironic yearning for an infinite stasis now my tongue is poison willingly, i fall yet as i stared into it the abyss never looked back it never looked back treading water is no way to live

caught in an endless game ashamed, we’re running out of time to work this out watching the daylight fade watching your eyes as they break their gaze from what’s left in the distance ready to tear this page from the story spending forever expecting nothing doesn’t make that nothing easier to bear hoping to hold onto hope no one can offer any promises always thought that i wanted something more but what does that entail? spending forever expecting nothing doesn’t make that nothing easier to bear waiting for a sign, idling through a red light all the while racing through my mind as if the clock had never been on my side unsure if writing this chapter is worse than watching it pass by if i could do it over again i doubt i'd know what to change still hoping to hold onto hope no one can offer any promises i always thought that i wanted something more but what does that entail? spending forever expecting nothing doesn’t make that nothing easier to bear is it wasted time if i make it out alive?

it gets late so early now the twilight of life both behind and to come an empty sky, a parachute to help us fly eyes closed, loosely gripping the safety rope it gets late so early now fragments of function that no longer get passed down to make sense of it is not to understand the loveless warmth of a stranger's arms
